Cluster 7th Grade Science
In accordance with the 7, 8 grade Utah State Core Curriculum, our class will focus on the following by way of primary vs. secondary sources, online research skills, book-based research skill, map reading, analyzing current events, cultural appreciation, connect the past, wth the present and future, Drawing inferences, Importance of citizenship, Globally awareness, impact or resources, Geography.
·Explorers, Trappers, and Traders/Utah Geography
·Industrial Revolution
·Westward Expansion/Mormon Pioneers Settle Utah

Cold War, and the Civil Rights Era
·Today’s World/Utah Government, Economics, and Citizenship/Current Events
Positive Reinforcements for Achievement
I fully support our level up system which helps students to reach for the Level Four. A level four on the student’s daily planner is a big deal. It means your student has gone above and beyond. If a student is having a rough moment they are given whatever supports needed to raise back up to level 3 or beyond!

D-demonstrate compliance (on first request)
E-everybody safe (make school a safe place for everybody)
Attendance is required by state law. We will strictly follow Spectrum school policies.
Please note: electronic devices are not allowed in any classroom.
Grading: there will be 10 graded assignments for each course: Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Each student can redo any assignment to earn a higher grade. I score each assignment on an individual level of improvement and classroom participation. Excessive absences mean a loss of participation points. The student will be given make up work to complete at home or during recess with parent approval to regain participation points.
A= 90% or better B= 80% or better C= 70% or better C is an average grade and should be celebrated D=60% or better (not allowed we will redo some assignments) F = not happening……I will find a way for you to succeed!!!
